What are the school hours?
Early Childhood students who attend school all day and Lower School students start at 8:00am and dismiss at 3:00pm.  Half Day Early Childhood students dismiss at 12 noon.  Classes begin at 8:05am for Middle and Upper School students and dismiss at 3:15pm.
Do you have lunch service?
Yes, hot lunches are prepared by staff members from Valley Foods and served on the University Campus and delivered to the Japonica Campus. 
Do students participate in PE every day?
Physical Education is part of the curriculum in every division.  Early Childhood students attend physical education classes at least twice each week.  Lower and Middle School students attend PE class daily.  In the Upper School physical education is an elective.
What type of sports programs does St. Luke’s offer?
Athletics are available for students of all ages!  Our youngest students (Grades K3, K4, and K5) participate in KiddieCats which offers Soccer, Baseketball, and T-Ball.  Students in Grades 1 and 2 participate in the Cubs program which includes Flag Football, Volleyball, Basketball, and Soccer.  The SuperCats program (Grades 3-4, and 5-6) offers Football, Cross Country, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, and Track and Field.  St. Luke’s is a participating member of the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) where students in the 7th grade and higher can participate in Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Cross Country, Swimming and Diving, Indoor Track, Track and Field, Golf, Softball, and Tennis.
Do you offer before and after school care?
Yes.  Before and after school care is available for K3-Grade 5 students on the Japonica Campus.  This program is supervised by Lynn Yeager.  Middle School students on the University Campus are offered after school care until 6:00pm.
How accessible are the teachers at St. Luke’s?
Teachers are available after school for extra help.  Please call ahead for scheduling.  In the Middle and Upper School teachers are available at the end of the school day for extra help.  Please contact your specific teacher for scheduling.
Where do I purchase St. Luke’s uniforms?
St. Luke’s uniforms are available at Zoghby’s.
Do you accept out-of-town applicants?
We welcome all applications and try to accommodate out-of-town families.  Please call the Admissions Office if distance prevents a normal school visit or testing.
Is the school affiliated with a church?
St. Luke’s Episcopal School is a mission of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.  The school was founded upon the Episcopal School tradition, and as such is an inclusive community.  St. Luke’s Episcopal Church rector, Father Ken Cumbie, leads a weekly chapel service on both campuses.  Our students come from many different religious backgrounds.
Is St. Luke’s accredited?
St. Luke’s holds dual accreditation from the Southern Association of Independent Schools and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.  St. Luke's is also a member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools.
