St. Luke’s is proud to boast the city’s most diverse athletic program offering athletics to students in grades K3-12. In 2012, St. Luke’s founded the Youth Development League (YDL) for students in grades 3-6. This league is designed to provide a competitive sports program for SLES teams to compete with teams from other Mobile and Baldwin county schools. Third and fourth graders comprise teams and fifth and sixth graders comprise teams, each competing against teams from other schools within the same grade levels.
The YDL program has been a huge success among local schools and it continues to grow! Currently, the offerings include football, cheerleading, cross country, basketball, soccer, and track. Football, cheerleading and cross country are offered during the early Fall. Basketball is offered in late Fall. Soccer and track are offered in Winter/early Spring.
Parent coaches are vital to the success of this program…please let us know if you are interested in coaching!
